About

Kai Kido is the 2023 winner and two-time finalist of the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition based in New England. His stories are born from an obsession with all forms of creativity, extensive international experience, and a love of nature and things that go fast. Prior to screenwriting, Kai produced comedy and reality television in Los Angeles for IFC, E!, MTV, and others.  

In his free time, Kai runs, cooks, refinishes furniture, plays pickleball(quietly), builds stuff that needs building, gardens, plucks his ukulele, and listens to the Scriptnotes podcast.
